All eyes on MAPIC 2021!Owen Mitchell
November is always a busy month in the Innesco office, as it’s the time of year when we prepare for what is arguably one of the most important weeks in the retail property calendar year: #MAPIC.
Of course, this year is different to last – instead of familiarising ourselves with a digital event platform and filling up our calendars with Zoom meetings, we have been busy packing our bags, double-checking flight details and making lunch reservations down in Cannes, as the event finally returns after 2 years away.
Like previous years, Innesco is a proud partner of @MAPICWorld itself, helping to drive key discussions and championing event with media relations and expert articulation.
We also have several other clients involved in different ways, including VIA Outlets, Diriyah Gate Development Authority (DGDA) and Eurofund Group. Ian Sandford, President at Eurofund Group, will be speaking on two panels both on Wednesday 1st December – “Merging the digital and physical in malls and meeting places” and the “Impact of new retail on logistics.” During the sessions Ian will be joined by speakers from companies like Deliveroo, Getir and Vemco Group – we’re looking forward to hearing insight from these market experts on how the industry has evolved and how it can continue to bounce-back in a post-COVID world.
DGDA will boast one of the biggest stands at MAPIC, showcasing Diryah Square, a $50 Billion giga-project on the edge of Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Jonathan Timms, President of Diriyah Development Company, a subsidiary of DGDA will be speaking on “How cities can reorganise to connect people” – we can’t wait to hear what he has to say from his experience of working on such a unique project.
This year, MAPIC will incorporate LeisurUp and The Happetite for the first time, gathering new occupiers which are changing the face of retail. The event will also feature a new UK Expansion Hub, acting as a platform to showcase UK projects, expertise and concepts to international audiences, as well as a meeting point to discuss the latest trends and hot topics with local market experts.
We can’t wait to meet face-to-face once more and relish the chance to experience the buzz of a physical event down in Cannes again!
We’re certain that next week will be a fantastic showcase of why physical events are so valuable, offering the opportunity to meet, network and learn in each other’s company once more! We hope to see you there – our Business Director, Vicky Lunn will be available for meetings – please do drop her an email at Vicky.email@example.com – and of course, feel free to follow us over at @Inn_Tweets for real-time insights and updates from the event.
