Innesco Turns Twelve!Owen Mitchell
This month Innesco is celebrating its 12th Birthday – and what a journey it has been so far! The business continues to thrive since rising from the ashes of the financial crisis in 2009, gaining the trust of some of the largest, most respected, and ambitious companies in global real estate.
As part of our birthday celebrations this week we co-hosted our first in-person event since the start of the pandemic with our friends at MAPIC. Breakfast was served, offering clients and contacts a chance to not only meet everyone based in and around London at Innesco but also senior players and journalists within the industry. We were delighted that Allan Lockhart – CEO of NewRiver and Chairman of the recently formed Retail Committee at the British Property Federation / BPF – could join to share his views of the last 16 months in a keynote Q&A.
Of course, like almost every business around the world, the period has presented huge challenges for the Innesco team. In March 2020 we packed up our things and headed to work from home, setting up our laptops and monitors in living rooms and on kitchen tables, as we shifted to blended working. The pandemic forced us to change our working habits – our routine, the way we go about work, and the way we consume information. As our working habits changed, so did our strategy. By adapting our approach and learning innovative new methods we have continued to deliver success for our clients, while securing an array of exciting new business. Innesco is poised to emerge from the pandemic stronger than ever.
Although working from home has thrown up a multitude of new opportunities, the Innesco team has also relished the prospect of working together in a physical space once again. On 1st June, we officially moved into our fabulous new home at Soho Works, Television Centre in White City. We could not be happier with our own private office within Soho Works’ expansive (and very chic) domain – not least because it has given the team a chance to catch up with each other on the last 15 months face-to-face and extend a proper welcome to new team members.
Over the last year and a half connecting with one another has become a ‘digital-first’ affair as virtual events have soared in popularity – but we really have missed seeing our friends, partners and clients in person. With this week’s Birthday event an overwhelming success, we suspect we are not the only ones sharing that sentiment – and we hope to see many more of you this year as the world begins to unlock!
