Just over three weeks to go until #MIPIM2018Digital Editor
The start of 2018 has been so fast and furious for us here at Innesco that February seems to be flying by. Not that we are wishing away the months but this does mean one thing. Yes, it’s now just over three weeks to go until the annual pilgrimage to Cannes for MIPIM, the world’s leading property market.
This year’s event, once again hosted by Reed MIDEM at the Palais des Festivals, will run from 13-16 March (but really everyone’s there from Monday 12th!). This will be our 11th year at MIPIM and it never fails to impress both ourselves and our clients.
The programme is once again diverse, relevant and inspiring – spotlighting Global Data, Market Trends, Innovation, Tech and Creative Trends – and with over 3k exhibitors, 360 speakers, over 24k participants, and the world’s media, it’s no wonder why this event is so high on our list of priorities and frankly unmissable.
The central theme this year at MIPIM is ‘Mapping World Urbanity’. The emphasis is on looking to the future rather than just the now and exploring how we will live in cities in 10, 20 and even 30 years time. With the creation of more global cities through urban expansion surely the rules for property development and investment will change, and of course property professionals must be able to predict and prepare for these challenges.
Ronan Vaspart, Director of MIPIM, explains that “from demography and sovereignty, to connectivity and sustainability, cities are taking on a new dimension at MIPIM. The key to successful property development is finding the right balance between international investment strategies and local opportunities. MIPIM 2018 will provide welcome input to help understand the issues of urban growth and outline the future of property in an urbanizing world.” We couldn’t agree more – especially as we are representing Oslo Metropolitan Area at this year’s conference, amongst other clients including Nakheel, Fortwell Capital and London’s New West End Company.
The team here is really looking forward to exploring these issues and discovering the best strategies towards global city growth from an excellent line up of keynotes and speakers.
There will be an Innesco presence at MIPIM from Monday 12th until Friday 16th – so please do get in touch if you would like to meet up with one of our team to discuss how we can help you to do better business.
