MADE.COM brings designer furniture to MetquarterDigital Editor
Online design brand MADE.COM has announced plans for the opening of its brand new, 4,000 sq ft (372 sq m) North West showroom in Metquarter (client), Liverpool – its second showroom outside London.
MADE.COM’s award winning concept connects the customer directly with the makers and sells online only. Currently operating showrooms in London’s Soho and Leeds, MADE plans to open the new space to meet demand from its growing customer base in the North West.
Visitors to the showroom will have access to interactive technologies including CloudTags, where customers can access all product information using a simple tablet device, as Metquarter continues to add to its already impressive tenant mix. The showroom is scheduled to open in mid September 2015.
The addition of the MADE.COM showroom is indicative of the retailer confidence shown in Metquarter, following Hugo Boss’s 3,000 sq ft (279 sq m) expansion in the premium shopping centre earlier this year.
Nigel Poad, Managing Director of Insite Asset Management (Asset Managers of Metquarter), commented: “The introduction of MADE.COM to Metquarter demonstrates the centre’s unrivalled status as the premium retail destination of choice in Liverpool for an increasingly impressive range of brands. The showroom will give the centre and its customers a fantastic new lifestyle option and is a perfect example of the integration of bricks and clicks in a modern shopping environment.”
Annabel Kilner, Head of UK, MADE.COM, added: “As an online only company, where we can bring our brand to life and enable customers to see the quality of our product, with limited additional costs, we will. The new site allows us to do this – it’s a cost effective partnership with the centre, meaning there are no big high street costs but we’re alongside great brands such as Hugo Boss and Jo Malone.
“We receive approximately 700,000 website visits from Liverpool and the surrounding area per year so Metquarter is a good opportunity for us in the area.”
This latest announcement comes after a bumper 2015 for MADE.COM:

- Now employs over 180 people in Leeds, London and Shanghai offices
