We’ve been regular attendees to SIEC, or MAPIC and MIPIM down in Cannes for many years, so have been dealing with French- speaking media to raise interest in international schemes and destinations, wherever they may be. However, where things get more complex is creating that closer cross-border bond, mixing languages, and transposing asset management and marketing principles across into second languages. Thankfully, am proud to say that my langue du choix is French!
I’ve just returned from a scheme that’s a short Eurostar and TGV ride out of Paris, where centre management and asset management teams convened to discuss accroitre la fréquentation, durée de visite, connaissance du marché, profil des boutiques, stratégie marketing en-ligne, et une nouvelle stratégie marketing. It was an extremely rewarding discussion.
What’s all that about? It’s about driving footfall, dwell time, market awareness, retailer profiles, digital strategy, as well as implementing a new marketing strategy – centres have relatively similar problems across Europe, just sometimes for different reasons.
