Trust in Retail

Tonight marks the Retail Trust’s London Ball #LB2012 at Grosvenor House, and Innesco is in attendance. It’s set to be the most important and relevant yet, after a year of on-going retail industry turmoil. The great and the good of retail will be there. With Retail Trust’s focus on the needs of all those who work in retail, the value of the industry’s leadership pulling together to fundraise for the needy is paramount, with previous years raising in six figures for the charity. Innesco is particularly keen to see how the Trust also builds bridges between the retail and property sectors – many of whom are going tonight too; Westfield, British Land, Land Securities, CBRE to name but a few. Nigel J L Rothband, the Retail Trust’s Chief Executive explains: “The value of this event and the generosity of guests who show their support for all of those with careers in retail is phenomenal, and in the current climate we are delighted that the confirmed level of attendance is pretty close to last year”. A key element of the Ball in recent years has been the silent auction featuring money can’t buy ‘packages’, donated by Retail Trust supporters. This year’s bid lots include: • A day spent shadowing Ann Summers’ boss Jacqueline Gold • Shopping experiences including trip to McArthur Glen’s Veneto designer outlet in Italy • Designer items from a Julien MacDonald dress to a Jimmy Choo handbag and Hetty Rose shoes • Plus sporting, dining, art and entertainment packages Next year, Innesco is pledging a 2-month internship working across our portfolio of retail and property sector clients! All for a great cause. We think it’s going to be a great night… Trust me! —- Dan Innes, MD
