The challenge

Hallsville Quarter, in the heart of Canning Town, is a multi-phase regeneration delivered by Bouygues UK with Linkcity in partnership with Newham Council - evolving over more than a decade from concept to a fully realised urban quarter. Despite tangible delivery of new homes, retail, public realm and jobs, the scheme lacked a clearly articulated place identity and story, and needed consistent narrative alignment across a complex, phased programme and a wide stakeholder base spanning local residents, public-sector partners and planning authorities.

Why it mattered commercially

Long-term regeneration schemes only succeed when local communities, civic stakeholders and the wider market understand and trust the place being created. A clear identity and credible, sustained communications were essential to balance community priorities with development ambitions and to convert physical delivery into long-term reputational and commercial value.

What Innesco did
  • Place identity creation - supporting the renaming and repositioning of the scheme as Hallsville Quarter, anchored in local heritage, community identity and long-term placemaking ambitions
  • Public consultation and community engagement - managing dialogue with local stakeholders, communicating complex plans accessibly and reflecting feedback into the evolving scheme
  • Strategic communications programme - a coherent messaging framework across multiple phases of development, with targeted channels including social media to build profile and reputation
  • Stakeholder engagement and political interface - relationship management across local authority networks and facilitated dialogue between developers, council leaders and community groups
  • Long-term narrative and placemaking - positioning Hallsville Quarter as a living, mixed-use urban quarter and a model of regeneration partnership delivering for residents, local businesses and the wider borough
